Cacik (pronounced 'jajuk) is very easy to make with very simple ingredients. Finely diced cucumber, garlic, dill weed, mint, oregano and other spices are added as desired. Then, the mixture is usually chilled before serving.

Step by Step method

  1. In a bowl, add Cucumber, garlic, salt and yogurt.
  2. Stir well until the yogurt becomes smooth and even.
  3. Add water and continue stirring till the yogurt completely dissolves in the water.
  4. If you like it thick, skip adding the water.
  5. For serving, add some dried mint and olive oil on top (optional).
