If you’re not familiar with freekeh, it is a chewy, nutty whole grain that originates in the Middle East. It tastes a lot like bulgur wheat. Onionin invites to try this tasty, twisted, Middle Eastren version of freekeh with cream and chicken soup that you will absolutely love it.
1. Place chicken, onion, garlic, Frike, water and cinnamon stick in a large saucepan. Bring to boil and simmer for 1 hour or until fhreekeis cooked. Remove cinnamon stick.
2. Dissolve MAGGI cream of chicken soup in 1/2 cup of water then stir in the freekeh. Season with salt and pepper to taste and simmer for another 8 minutes.
3. Serve hot and garnish with a pinch of grounded cinnamon and parsley, if desired.
