Jallab is a type of fruit syrup popular in the Middle East made from carob, dates, grape molasses, rose water, and artificial coloring, then smoked with Arabic incense. It is usually serve with ice and floating pine nuts and raisins. This kind of beverage is very popular in Syria, Palestine and Lebanon.
1. Pour the jellab syrup in a pitcher. Add the water and stir well.
2. Serve in long glasses with ice and add 1 teaspoon pine nuts, 1 teaspoon almonds and 1 teaspoon raisins to each glass.
3. Present the jellab with a spoon in each glass.
Jellab syrup can be found in all grocery shops that sell food from the Middle East.
