1. Combine all the ingredients together to make dough (except the sugar syrup and the oil which is for frying). Keep aside for 20 minutes.
2. Make small balls with the dough; roll each ball with your hand over the back of a strainer to make a pattern. You may use anything else to create different pattern designs. (You can use a fork or a colander to make inscriptions on the dough, if desired.
3. Deep fry on medium heat until golden brown in color.
4. Dip in the hot sugar syrup for 2-5 minutes. And serve at room temperature.
