An easy simple dish of cooked rice and flavored with saffron.



Step by Step method

  1. Wash rice throughly until water runs clear.
  2. Place rice in a non-stick pot. Add enough water all the way until the first knuckle of your index finger.
  3. Add canola oil.
  4. Add brewed saffron and salt.Give it a good stir.
  5. Cover the pot and cook on high until the liquid is absorbed.
  6. Once the water has been absorbed turn the heat down.
  7. Wrap the lid of the pot in a towel, cover the pot with it, and steam for 30 minutes longer.
  8. Invert the rice onto a platter and enjoy this bright and gorgeous rice! 

Tips & variations

  • The intensity of the color of the rice highly depends on how dark your brewed saffron’s color is. The more saffron you use, the darker the color.
